WSL-Eawag Biodiversity Center ¶

The Eawag-WSL Biodiversity Center is a strategic, interdisciplinary initiative to promote, further develop, and consolidate research and outreach in biodiversity science at WSL and Eawag.

As part of Eawag and WSL, the Biodiversity Center aims to foster biodiversity research and outreach at WSL and Eawag by: 

• creating and supporting synergies between scientists within and across Eawag and WSL, and with other institutions
• increasing the visibility of WSL and Eawag biodiversity research to scientists and practitioners.

Founded in 2020 as a WSL initiative, the Biodiversity Center became a joint Eawag-WSL initiative in 2025 to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.

The Center’s activities include Workshops, Summer Schools, an annual Biodiversity Symposium, and a Research Day, providing a diverse range of opportunities for engagement. In addition, we organize a Biodiversity Seminar Series and a Journal Club at WSL.
